Story
Anton Kildeberg (1870–1941) was a Danish furniture manufacturer based in Odense and the founder of Anton Kildebergs Møbelfabrik. The factory was established around 1897 and produced furniture in Odense’s Vesterbro district.
Odense City Archives preserves photographs of cabinetmakers working at the factory in the early 1920s. After Anton Kildeberg’s death, his sons Svend Kildeberg and Henning Kildeberg continued the business, and furniture production under the Anton Kildebergs Møbelfabrik name continued through the 1940s and beyond. As a result, furniture from the 1950s and 1960s that appears on the vintage market under the Kildeberg name should be distinguished from designs securely attributable to Anton Kildeberg himself during his lifetime.
