Story
Omann Jun Møbelfabrik was founded by Andreas Omann in Ølholm, Denmark, in 1933. The company initially concentrated on bedroom furniture and tables and later expanded into sideboards, desks and storage furniture.
In 1954, Andreas Omann’s eldest son Gunni joined the family business after training in furniture design and cabinetmaking. During the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, Omann Jun exported furniture in teak, oak and rosewood and became particularly associated with pieces such as the Model 75 Desk, Model 18 Sideboard and Model 55 Dining Table.
Design attribution requires some caution. Period advertising sometimes credits Gunni Omann, while later company accounts describe Andreas, Gunni and Bjarne as collectively involved in design and production. Where surviving sources disagree, this page therefore avoids assigning a model to one family member without stronger evidence.
Gunni and Bjarne Omann took over the company in 1979. A later generation, Ulrik / Ulrich Omann, assumed leadership in 2005. The company continued with office furniture and later returned to selected classics, including a reissue of the Model 18 Sideboard in 2016.

1933
Andreas Omann founded Omann Jun Møbelfabrik in Ølholm. Early production focused on bedroom furniture and tables.
1954
Gunni Omann joined the family business after completing training in furniture design and cabinetmaking.
1950s–1970s
The range expanded to sideboards, desks, storage furniture and tables, with growing export sales.
1958
The Model 75 Desk appeared during this period and became one of the company’s best-known designs.

The Model 18 Sideboard entered production. Secondary sources differ between 1958 and 1960, so this page does not assign a single definitive launch year.
