Story
Carlo Jensen (1905–1990) was a Danish cabinetmaker associated with the founding of Hundevad & Co. Records held by Ulfborg-Vemb Lokalhistoriske Arkiv state that in 1935 cabinetmakers Aage Hundevad and Carlo Jensen purchased a furniture business in Ulfborg and established the company with furniture production as its principal activity.
Hundevad & Co. initially produced traditional tables, chairs, beds, and cabinets before growing into a major manufacturer of storage furniture. In 1961 the company moved into a new factory of approximately 1,800 square metres and expanded repeatedly in the following years. Jensen is recorded as both a cabinetmaker and a figure connected with the company’s development, and his name remains associated with sideboards, bookcases, and tables produced by Hundevad.
Many pieces are sold today under Carlo Jensen’s name, but the strength of the attribution varies. Models such as the No. 42 Sideboard and Model No. 26 are sometimes catalogued as “attributed to” Jensen rather than as securely documented designs. This page therefore distinguishes documented authorship from market attribution where the surviving evidence is limited.
