Story

Fredrik A. Kayser (1924–1968) was a Norwegian furniture designer born in Bergen. He graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Oslo in 1945 and began working at Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor the same year.

He is known for chairs in which the timber structure forms an important part of the visual expression. Notable designs include the Fluffy lounge chair of 1954 and the Krysset lounge chair of 1955, whose crossed legs and visible joinery define the composition.
