Story

Frits Henningsen (1889–1965) was a Danish cabinetmaker and furniture designer. He completed his apprenticeship with I.P. Mørck in 1911, gained experience in Germany, France and Great Britain, and returned to Copenhagen in 1915 to open his own furniture shop.

Drawing on historic furniture traditions, his work gradually developed toward simpler forms. He placed exceptional emphasis on craftsmanship and quality and was unusual among cabinetmakers in consistently designing his own furniture.
