Story

Helge Sibast (1908–1985) was a Danish cabinetmaker and furniture designer. He trained in his father Peder Olsen Sibast’s workshop and later took over the family business, developing Sibast Furniture into an internationally active manufacturer.

Sibast designed furniture himself and explored expressive wooden structures. His 1953 Sibast No. 7, No. 8 and No. 9 chairs are among his best-known works; No. 8 is recognizable by its Y-shaped leg construction and fan-like back.
